# How do I cancel my subscription?

> Cancel by uninstalling the app if you're billed through Shopify, or via the red Cancel button in Settings → Billing if you're on Stripe direct billing.

How you cancel depends on your billing method — see [Identify your billing method](/billing/how-do-i-identify-my-billing-method) if you're unsure which one you're on.

## Shopify billing

If you're billed through Shopify, **uninstalling the Upstack Data app cancels your subscription automatically**. You won't be charged after the app is removed.

If you ever want to use Upstack Data again, you can reinstall and your store can be reconnected — see [Install Upstack on Shopify](/quickstart/install-on-shopify).

## Stripe (direct) billing

If you pay by credit card through Stripe, uninstalling is not enough. Cancel from the dashboard:

1. Log in to your [Upstack Data dashboard](https://app.upstackdata.com/) and go to **Settings → Billing**.
2. Click the red **Cancel** button and confirm.
