How to Create a New Purchase Goal in Google Ads Using the Google Ads Tag



Below is a quick guide for setting up a purchase conversion goal (also known as a conversion action) in Google Ads using the Google Ads Tag on your website.

1. Sign in to Google Ads



Go to Google Ads and sign in with your Google account.

2. Access Conversions



In the top navigation bar, click Tools & Settings.

Under Measurement, select Conversions.

3. Add a New Conversion Action



Click + New conversion action.

Select Website when prompted.

4. Configure the Purchase Goal



Enter your Website domain and click Scan (optional).

Choose "Add a conversion action manually"

Choose Purchase as the Goal (or Conversion action).

Give your conversion a Name (e.g., "Purchase (Upstack Data)"). Ensure Enhanced Conversions is turned on and click "Done"


Click "Save and Continue"
