Log in to Shopify → go to Sales channels
Navigate to Facebook & Instagram → Settings
Click "Change" next to Share data
Toggle off data sharing
Save changes to prevent duplicate events
⚠️Important: Most causes of duplicate events are because you have more than one Facebook integration active on your site.
Please ensure to disable Facebook and Instagram Sales Channel Data Sharing and that no other Facebook pixel apps are installed.
Steps to Disable Facebook and Instagram Data Sharing in Shopify
Step 1: Sign in to Shopify
Log in to your Shopify Store
Step 2: Navigate to Facebook & Instagram Settings
From your Shopify admin homepage, click the Sales channels tab in the left-hand menu
Select "Facebook & Instagram" → then click the "Settings" tab
Note: You may also use the search function to locate the Facebook and Instagram sales channel
Step 3: Access Share Data Settings
Go to Share Data and click "Change"
Step 4: Toggle Off Data Sharing
Toggle off "Share Data"
Step 5: Save Your Changes
Once "Share data" is toggled to "Off" → click on the "Save" button
Step 6: Confirmation
After disabling data sharing for the Facebook Sales Channel, your settings will update to show the change
