How to Configure Google Ads Destination in Upstack Data

This guide shows how to connect Google Ads conversion tracking in Upstack Data using your conversion ID and label.

Quick Summary

  • Click "+ New Destination" and select Google Ads.

  • Find your conversion in Google Ads Goals → Conversions → Summary.

  • Get Conversion ID and Label from Tag Setup.

  • Enter the Conversion ID and Label and create configuration.


Configuration Steps

Step 1: Sign in to Upstack Data


Step 2: Add new Google Ads Pixel Destination in Upstack Data

  • On your Upstack Data dashboard, click "+ New Destination" in the right-hand corner of your browser window

  • In the "Select a Destination" popup window, click on "Google Ads" pixel destination

Step 3: Find Your Conversion in Google Ads

  • In Google Ads:

    • Navigate to Goals → click Conversions → select Summary

  • Find your Primary Conversion Event (usually labelled "Purchase - UpstackData") and click to open it

Note: Your conversion might be named differently. Look for the primary event linked to your purchase conversion.


Step 4: Access Conversion Details

  • Scroll down to Tag Setup section and click "Use Google Tag Manager"

  • This reveals your Conversion ID and Conversion Label.


Step 5: Enter Conversion ID and Conversion Label in Upstack Data

  • In the first Upstack Data field:

    • Type "AW-" then paste your Conversion ID from Google Ads (Example format: AW-123456789)

    • In the second field, paste your Conversion Label from Google Ads


Step 6: Create Configuration

  • Click Create Configuration button to save the setup

Success! 🎉 You should see a confirmation message and the Google Ads destination will appear as "Healthy" in your destinations list.
