Quick Summary

  • Wait 4 to 7 days after creating the goal.

  • Go to Goals → Summary → Edit goals.

  • Open Conversion action optimization.

  • Set "Purchase - UpstackData" as Primary.

  • Set other purchase goals to Secondary and save.

Importance of this Step

When creating a new Purchase Goal in Google Ads (Purchase - Upstack Data), we initially set it as secondary for observation only. This allows Google to collect baseline data without disrupting current optimization. After 4-7 days, switching to Primary ensures the goal is active with sufficient data for optimization.

Steps to Switch Your Purchase Goal

Step 1: Verify Access Level

  • Ensure you have Admin or Manager access to the Google Ads account

Step 2: Sign In to Google Ads

Step 3: Navigate to Goals

  • In the left-hand menu, go to GoalsSummary

Step 4: Find Purchase Conversions

  • On the Goals Summary page, scroll down to find the Purchase conversion list

Step 5: Edit Goal Settings

  • Click Edit goals to open the Goal settings panel

Step 6: Open Conversion Optimization

  • Locate and click "Conversion action optimization" to expand the section

Step 7: Set UpstackData as Primary

  • Set "Purchase - UpstackData" as Primary

Step 8: Set Others to Secondary

  • Set all other Purchase goals to Secondary

⚠️Important: Ensure only ONE Primary conversion goal is active at a time

Example: Purchase - UsptackData is Primary and other Purchase conversions are Secondary

Step 9: Save Changes

  • Click Save to apply the new settings
