TikTok rows imported before Upstack began requesting install counts have no installs, so CPI for those dates may show no value until TikTok data for that period is re-imported.
Formula
TikTok Cost per App Install = TikTok Spend ÷ TikTok App Installs
How it works
Upstack requests TikTok’sapp_install reporting metric alongside spend for every account, campaign, ad group, and ad. TikTok counts an install on the date of the ad impression that earned it, so installs and spend for a day line up.
When you look at a date range or a group of rows, the metric divides total spend by total installs. When the install total is zero, the metric shows no value rather than an error.
TikTok doesn’t report a monetary value for installs, so there is no TikTok App Install Value metric.
Worked example
An app campaign with three ad groups:
The campaign figure is 2,400 ÷ 800 = 3.00, not the average of the three ad-group CPIs (3.61). Upstack’s cost metrics always divide totals.
FAQ
Why does TikTok CPI show no value for older dates?
Why does TikTok CPI show no value for older dates?
Install counts are only on TikTok rows imported after Upstack began requesting them. Older rows have spend but no installs until that period is re-imported.
Why doesn't Upstack's CPI match TikTok Ads Manager exactly?
Why doesn't Upstack's CPI match TikTok Ads Manager exactly?
TikTok Ads Manager can also show installs by conversion time. Upstack uses installs by impression time, so installs that happen days after the ad was seen are credited to the day of the impression.
Can I track app installs with the Upstack Pixel?
Can I track app installs with the Upstack Pixel?
The Upstack Pixel runs on websites. App installs happen in app stores, so TikTok measures them through its SDK or your mobile measurement partner and reports them to Upstack.
