Blended Cost per App Install measures the average cost to get one mobile app install. Meta, TikTok, and Google Ads all report installs, so spend from all three counts.
Meta and TikTok rows imported before Upstack’s app install import was fixed have no installs, and older Google Ads rows have none either. For those dates the metric may show no value, or a cost that is too high, until data for that period is re-imported.

Formula

Blended Cost per App Install = ( Meta Spend + TikTok Spend + Google Spend ) ÷ Blended App Installs

Formula Components

Example

Your app campaigns ran on all three platforms in March: Each platform’s spend is matched by the installs it reports, so the blended figure sits between the cheapest platform (Meta) and the most expensive (TikTok).

How It Works

Upstack adds Meta, TikTok, and Google Ads spend and divides by the installs those three platforms report. In the app the formula reads Meta + TikTok + Google Spend ÷ App Installs. Google installs come from the Google Ads API metric metrics.biddable_app_install_conversions, which Google doesn’t allow with the hour segment or on ads. Upstack imports it on daily account, campaign, and ad group rows. Hourly and ad-level Google rows carry spend but no installs, so a CPI built from those rows reads higher than your true cost per install. For platform-level figures, use TikTok Cost per App Install and Meta spend ÷ Meta App Installs.
