  • Uninstall the Upstack Data app from your Shopify Admin.
  • Log out of Upstack Data, then log back in.
  • Complete your credit card billing information in Stripe.
  • In the Upstack dashboard, go to Data Integrations → Shopify and reconnect your store.

Overview

Upstack Data is migrating all customers from Shopify App Store billing to direct credit card billing through Stripe. This gives us better control over plan management, pricing adjustments, and seasonal plan upgrades — things that Shopify’s billing system restricts. The process takes about 10 minutes and does not affect your tracking, integrations, or data.

Prerequisites

Make sure you have the following ready before starting the migration:
  • Shopify Admin access with permission to manage apps
  • Your Upstack Data login credentials (email and password) and access to the email inbox associated with the account
  • A credit card for the new Stripe billing
If you do not remember your Upstack Data login credentials, use the password reset option before starting, or reach out to support. The login uses an email verification code (OTP), so have access to your email inbox as well.

Migration steps

1

Uninstall the Upstack Data app from Shopify Admin

This cancels your Shopify-based subscription and prepares your account for the migration.
  • Sign in to your Shopify Admin.
  • Navigate to Settings → Apps and sales channels.
  • Find Upstack Data (UpStackified Tracking) in the list.
  • Click Remove app to uninstall it.
Uninstalling the app does NOT delete your Upstack Data account, tracking configuration, or any integrations you have already set up. Everything is preserved on the Upstack side and will reconnect automatically when you reinstall.
2

Log out and log back in to Upstack Data

After the app is uninstalled, log out of your Upstack Data account and log back in.
  • Log out of your Upstack Data account.
  • Log back in using your existing credentials.
  • You will be prompted to set up credit card billing through Stripe.
3

Complete your credit card billing information

After logging in, you will be prompted to set up credit card billing through Stripe.
  • Enter your credit card details on the billing screen.
  • Select your plan tier.
  • Confirm the subscription.
4

Reconnect your Shopify store

  • In the Upstack dashboard, go to Data Integrations → Shopify.
  • Click Reconnect on your Shopify store.
  • Follow the prompts to authorize the connection.
Once reconnected, your tracking and data will resume as normal.
5

Verify the migration

  • In the Upstack dashboard, confirm the Shopify integration shows status Healthy under Data Integrations.
  • In Event Health, confirm new events (e.g., PageView, Purchase) are arriving with timestamps after the reconnection.
  • In Stripe (or via your Stripe receipt email), confirm a successful subscription charge.

Frequently asked questions

Will I lose any tracking data during the migration?

No. Your tracking configuration, pixel setup, and all integrations are preserved. The uninstall/reinstall process only affects the Shopify billing connection, not your Upstack Data account or tracking scripts.

Do I need to redo my pixel setup, Klaviyo integration, or other configurations?

No. Everything carries over. Once you reinstall the app and log in, your existing setup will be intact.

What if I have multiple stores?

Each store is migrated individually. You will need to repeat this process for each store at a separate time. Each store has its own subscription and billing.

Can I change my plan during the migration?

Yes. This is a good opportunity to right-size your plan based on current order volume.
