Formula
RC Total Other Cost = Other order fees on returning customer orders + returning customer share of Recurring expenses with category Other (prorated to the date range)
Formula Components
How It Works
Other order fees are stored on each order, so Upstack counts them here when the order is a returning customer order. Recurring expenses in the Other category aren’t tied to orders. RC Total Other Cost gets a share in proportion to returning customers’ net revenue for the same date (and the same breakdown values, if you split the report by a dimension). NC Total Other Cost gets the rest, so the two add up to the store’s Other cost. See how the split works. Variable costs can only be Marketing or Opex, so none land here.Example
A 30-day month with 900 returning customer orders. The store charges a $0.50 Per Order fee for packaging inserts (category Other) and has a $2,000 Monthly Other expense. Returning customers brought in 60% of net revenue.
The new customer side of the same month is $1,100, and the two add up to $2,750: $750 of order fees plus the full $2,000 expense.
