We recommend turning off Facebook and Instagram data sharing in Shopify to prevent duplicate or conflicting tracking between your Meta accounts and Upstack Data. When data sharing is enabled, Meta receives its own conversion events directly from Shopify that overlap with the events Upstack tracks and forwards. That overlap causes double counting, inaccurate attribution, and inflated results in your reports. Disabling data sharing makes Upstack Data the single source of truth for your tracking and attribution — cleaner data in, more accurate performance insights out. For the step-by-step walkthrough, see Disable Facebook and Instagram data sharing in Shopify. The same principle applies to other channels — see Disable existing tracking.
