Blended Cost per Search measures how much you spend to generate one on-site search event. Meta and TikTok are the platforms that report searches, so only their spend counts.

Formula

Blended Cost per Search = ( Meta Spend + TikTok Spend ) ÷ Blended Searches

Formula Components

Example

Your store ran ads on all three platforms last week: Dividing Blended Spend ($5,000) by the same 2,500 searches would give $2.00, charging Google’s budget to searches it didn’t report.

How It Works

Upstack adds Meta and TikTok spend and divides by the search events those two platforms report. Google Ads doesn’t report search events, so its spend is left out. In the app the formula reads Meta + TikTok Spend ÷ Searches. If you run Google Ads, this metric won’t equal Blended Spend ÷ Blended Searches.
