Cost per Share measures how much ad spend is required to generate one share event on your site.

Formula

Cost per Share = Channel Spend ÷ Shares

Formula Components

Example

Your store spent $5,000 on Meta ads in January and generated 1,250 share events from visitors.

How It Works

Cost per Share is calculated by dividing total channel spend by the number of share events tracked by the Upstack Pixel. Share events are fired when visitors use social sharing functionality on your product pages, blog posts, or other shareable content. Lower cost per share indicates more efficient spend at driving social engagement.
