Lapsed Purchase Value measures the total monetary value of purchase events from customers who returned after an extended period of inactivity.

Formula

Lapsed Purchase Value = SUM ( value of lapsed_purchase events )

Formula Components

Example

Your Shopify store tracked $12,350 in lapsed purchase value last quarter from 85 win-back customers:

How It Works

Upstack checks each purchase event that has a customer ID and an order ID. It finds the customer’s most recent earlier order in Upstack’s order records. If that order was created 12 or more calendar months before Upstack processes the new purchase, Upstack generates a lapsed_purchase event. This measure adds up their value. A customer with no earlier order never generates lapsed_purchase. The check is separate from the new or returning classification, so a lapsed customer’s order usually also counts in Returning Customer Purchases, but not always.
